A Trademark is born
Behold it’s glory!®
It feels like a win at the Oscars… but there is a lot more to the story.
The Event Bridge® logo now has the same Trademark protections as the Event Bridge® name.
It is another step on Event Bridge’s journey within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Gaining a Trademark
The Trademark process is not that difficult, but there are a lot of traps for the unwary. That is why we employed the services of Michelle Ward of Indelible IP Limited.
Michelle helped me through, strike that, did the application process. Apart from an interesting discussion about what I wanted to protect and which areas I needed protection in, Michelle did the process. Not only that, but she kept me informed throughout the process.
If you want to know what protections you gain and how to USE a trademark, you need to speak with Michelle.
How did I find the amazing Michelle? Well, through Evo Business networking.
However, in gaining this trademark I would like to thank Pauline who helped design the logo: Pauline Brown of Blueice Graphic Design
So, you can see it was a team effort.
While we have a number of customers who directly use Event Bridge, it is soon going to be listed on the Salesforce AppExchange. Just a few more weeks!
What does Eventbridge® do? Well, it effortlessly connects Eventbrite to Salesforce. You can find out more about it on its website.

I was always told to carry people on the journey…
So we are starting a new journey with Salesforce. Over the years we have gathered a lot of useful knowledge. A lot of this is for us to use internally – within the company, but we also have a lot of information that is good for questions about Salesforce and Event Bridge.
So we now have a knowledge portal: https://cloudgeniusltd.force.com/support/s/
At the moment, it lets folk find out information. In the near future it will let people submit cases and track progress.
We are getting very excited, as it should help us to serve our customers better.
Of course, the other part of implementing this ourselves is so that we can help our customers implement it to help out their organisations.

As we experience one of the hottest spells in recent history. A little bit more cloud might be a welcome thing.
Cloud Genius is now approaching its 10th birthday. It was founded in December 2011, but its first Salesforce Implementation at Voluntary Services Lewisham was a little before that, around now! That was in the days when I lived in Hither Green, within a short bus journey of VSL HQ.
The news at Cloud Genius is that in recent months we have taken on two extra folk. Sri and Keerthi help expand our ability to help our clients and do development work. They both have a list of qualifications as long as their arms and are making super-strides in progressing the development of our clients organisations. These include: Resource, Mitzvah Day, Institute of Welsh Affairs and many others.
Shortly we are to announce our new pre-sales engineer. He comes with an impressive line-up of charities that he has helped. Turning their admin nightmares into carefully honed machines… that let them get on with achieving the aims of their organisations.
So, the real question is, ‘How should we celebrate our 10th birthday in December?’

27th Nov 2019 | Customer Engagement, Event Bridge, Eventbrite
I recently went to an event where the communication was appalling!
There were baggage checks that were only disclosed when you got the the front of the hour-long queue.
There was no program.
Even after I had left, a quarter of the way through in frustration… I was still receiving emails as if I were there.
This was at a big event, in a prestigious location. It left me feeling as if I were being treated like cattle.
How about, they had linked up their ticketing system to their messaging system? So that based on my attendance they could send me different messages?
It’s not only possible, it is inexpensive and easy!
Our Event Bridge solution does it quickly and easily. We can have you set up in an hour. Your attendance data in Eventbrite will seamlessly come over into your Salesforce account. It’s so easy!
Why not call for a demonstration? or check out our dedicated website on Event Bridge.
Not only will it give you the ability to treat your customers like royalty, it will also help you gain a profile of their attendance over time, it also cleans the data!

8th Aug 2014 | Event Bridge, Eventbrite, Salesforce, Security and Safety
You could say that it has been a good week, but that would be a lie. It has been a fantastic week! Bear with me… I will get to that security flaw.
I have to start with Salesforce – Cloud Genius Ltd now has registered partner status. This will let us give you even better service and give you sneak peeks at new features. It will also enhance our ability to offer training environments.
As you may have read before, we have been developing an Eventbrite -> Salesforce connector. Why? when there are others? Well this one has features that are unavailable in the others (and unlikely to be, because of their nature) and ours does not have the usage/limit costs associated with the others. We have finally come up with a name for the product (Event Bridge) and are in the process of developing a website that will tell you all about its features, pricing and why you could really do with using it. We are also in the process of re-vamping the CG website. (Yes, I know it is looking ‘tired’, but if you go to an electrician’s home and turn on the light the kettle boils.)
In the process of developing Event Bridge we discovered a subtle security flaw in Eventbrite. Talk about rapid reaction – within hours they had deployed a fix. I always say that you can just a company not in the good times, but in the bad. On that score, Eventbrite has certainly come up trumps. Even better, Cloud Genius will now appear on their security Hall of Fame… so we managed to help make the internet a safer place. (I always like it when a small company in Wales helps out a multi-national.)
So, that’s it for this week. Just off to get my super-hero uniform re-tailored.
